The game reads like a machine translation. The story however is essentially incomprehensible between getting thrown into it with no explanation and the bizarrely stilted dialogue that's full of non-sequiturs. The pixel art looks pretty good but that default classic filter or whatever it was called looks horrendous. The encounter rate while moving between already cleared areas is also on the high side. The battle system has a solid foundation with targeting weaknesses and setting up combos to do special moves, but it was very easy I never needed to use an item in battle at any point and never even came close to dying.
